My name is Laura James (she/her), MBA, PMP, ACC, LSS Black Belt.  My superpowers include uncovering complexities & obstacles and identifying creative strategies for your business, executive development or career growth.  The only certainty in life is change - how you SHiFT will be the difference maker.  

I am a Silicon Valley executive, consultant, coach & speaker with over 25 years in the tech industry and am currently the Founder & Managing Director of SHiFT – a boutique advisory & coaching firm. I have worked for Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Verizon and was most recently the Vice President of Global Operations Transformation Office at VMware, prior to the $69B acquisition by Broadcom.   As a global strategy & transformation leader, I have consulted with multiple Fortune 500 companies.  Last, I have coached hundreds of executives and individuals during their career pursuits, including women in tech, and look forward to meeting you!  

My Consulting Philosophy:  Transformation is NOT about the platform.  I am centered on the belief that real transformation occurs when there is a focus on simplifying culture, business process and customer experience. Transformation starts with identifying opportunities within these core components, baselining and continually measuring the value.

My Coaching Outlook: My coaching style is set on inspiration, growth and accountability.    I entered coaching as I am passionate about supporting individuals in their career.  With over 25+ years as a leader in tech, I see coaching as an opportunity to free my client's mind of the things you normally wouldn't consider doing - a true growth mindset.

I am most grateful for: My family (husband of 26 years, 2 amazing adult daughters and 2 four-legged family members) They challenged and supported me through the waves of my career journey.  My parents - for setting a foundation of excellence, drive and keeping a sense of humor.
